Running from the nightmare,
Hiding from the pain,
Searching for release,
From the voice inside my brain,
Fleeing from a thought,
That just won’t die with time,
Searching for a way,
To deny the crime,
Is there sanctuary?
Will there ever be?
Or will I just continue,
Continue to flee?
Racing a race that I can never win,
Trying to dodge a past,
That is steadily closing in…

I wrote this years ago in highschool ('95 or '96) it was even published in a area highschool poets compilation book. woooo.
